INANUNSYO ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Lunes ng gabi, na naglaan ang pamahalaan ng P200 billion para sa mga low-income households na apektado sa community quarantine na naglalayong pigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
“We have allotted P200 billion for low-income households who are badly affected by the current crisis. Sila ang nasa informal sector and those who live day to day on subsistence wages or no work no pay,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.
Tinawag ito ng Chief Executive bilang “the biggest social assistance program” sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas.
“Arrangements, beneficiary households will receive emergency support for their 2 months based on the regional minimum wage,” ayon sa Punong Ehekutibo.
Sa kabilang dako, hiniling naman ni Pangulong Duterte sa mga nakaririwasa sa buhay o iyong mga ‘well off’ na patuloy na tulungan ang mga nangangailangan.
“However, I still count on everyone to also look out after their fellowmen, their countrymen,” ani Pangulong Duterte sabay sabing “To those who have more in life, I implore you to share in the cost of taking share of the less fortunate and keeping our society intact. They have also contributed to our prosperity in one way or the other so let us support them.” CHRISTIAN DALE
